Automated software known as bots, are a big player in the evolution of the internet. They do redundant tasks that fatigue human minds.

Often, being a one-man-illustrator, I’ve filled my own promotional needs through the use of bots.

Generally, the mainstream society of the internet wants you to do most things of a promotional nature by you own human hand and mind. This is because the higher powers that organize and index the internet want to gauge the activity of humans for the sake of search relevance and accuracy.

In the world of “black hat” SEO, or better said unethical or dishonest Search Engine Optimization, “bots” are the workhorses of the spamming occupation these people pursue.

There are of course “good” bots, such as webcrawlers which are used for indexing and classifying online content.

AO-Maru prefers to be a good bot, and is a very hard worker.
